{"id":599,"date":"2025-03-24T09:24:55","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T09:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gcl-global.fida.me\/?post_type=gcl-services&#038;p=599"},"modified":"2025-06-15T16:58:19","modified_gmt":"2025-06-15T16:58:19","slug":"recycled-claim-standard-rcs","status":"publish","type":"gcl-services","link":"https:\/\/gcl-global.fida.me\/en_au\/certification\/recycled-claim-standard-rcs\/","title":{"rendered":"Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h1>What is Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)?<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) is an international, voluntary standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of Recycled input and chain of custody. <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gcl.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/rcs-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"131\" \/>The goal of the RCS is to increase the use of Recycled materials and uses the chain of custody requirements of the Content Claim Standard (CCS).<\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the RCS are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>Alignment of Recycled definitions across multiple applications<\/li>\n<li>Track and trace Recycled input materials<\/li>\n<li>Provide consumers (both brands and end consumers) with a tool to make informed decisions<\/li>\n<li>Provide assurance that materials are actually Recycled and in a final product<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Recycled Claim Standard is intended for use with any product that contains at least 5% Recycled Material. Each stage of production is required to be certified, beginning at the recycling stage and ending at the last seller in the final business-to-business transaction. Material Collection and Material Concentration sites are subject to self-declaration, document collection, and on-site visits.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center; padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 10px;\"><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/e2khB_oCrUU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h3>GCL International&#8217;s accredited scope for RCS includes:<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>Content of recycled fibres in textile products<\/li>\n<li>Content of recycled metal in metal products<\/li>\n<li>Content of recycled plastic in plastic products<\/li>\n<li>Content of recycled paper in paper products<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h4>The RCS certification process:<\/h4>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gcl.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/RCS-process-01.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"4773\" height=\"2307\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h4>Application and contract<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>You can apply <a href=\"http:\/\/ssl.gcl-intl.com\">online<\/a> for the RCS Certification.\u00a0 We will use the application details to produce a quotation.<\/p>\n<p>Once the quotation has been accepted, we will ask you to return a signed copy of the quotation and our Scheme Rules.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h4>Preparation for the Initial RCS Certification Audit<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>The following documents are supplied prior to the initial certification:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>Briefing information about the RCS Standard;<\/li>\n<li>Standard and Implementation Manual;<\/li>\n<li>Document checklist;<\/li>\n<li>Inspection report which includes inspection checklists, list of suppliers and subcontractors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h4>Initial Certification Audit<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>Opening meeting<\/li>\n<li>On-site Audit<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of Audit Report (including Findings)<\/li>\n<li>Closing meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following the completion of the inspection, a report detailing the findings is provided. Subject to the closure of any non-conformances or findings (if any), a Scope Certificate is issued.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h4>Labelling Release<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p>Whenever the client wishes to have its artwork approved, the proposed artwork and Labelling Release form shall be submitted to GCL International for approval.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h4>Transaction Certificate<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>The certified client may request a Transaction Certificate by emailing us;<\/li>\n<li>Send a Transaction Certificate Request form and associated documents to us;<\/li>\n<li>If approved by us, the Transaction Certificate is issued to the client.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h4>Re-assessment or Annual audit<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>GCL International will communicate with the client to plan for the re-assessment and to determine if there has been any changes, such as: production units, subcontractors, recipes or new suppliers. An audit report must be completed by the client and returned to us;<\/li>\n<li>GCL International will conduct the re-assessment;<\/li>\n<li>Following the completion of the assessment, a report detailing the findings is provided.
