It verifies the presence and amount of organic material in a final product. <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gcl.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ocs-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"520\" height=\"320\" \/>It addresses the flow of product within and between companies, raw material verification, post-harvest processing, manufacturing, packaging and labeling, storage, handling, and shipping through the seller in the last business-to-business transaction. It allows for transparent, consistent, and comprehensive independent evaluation and verification of Organic Material content claims on products by an accredited third-party Certification Body (CB).<\/p>\n<p>The goal of the OCS is to ensure trust in organic content claims and uses the chain of custody requirements of the Content Claim Standard (CCS).<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uX9yvWFWOKs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h3>The OCS certification process:<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<h5>Application and contract<\/h5>\n<p>You can apply <a href=\"https:\/\/ssl.gcl-intl.com\/\">online <\/a>for the OCS Certification. We will use the application details to produce a quotation.<\/p>\n<p>Once the quotation has been accepted, we will ask you to return a signed copy of the quotation and our Scheme Rules.<\/p>\n<h5>Preparation for the Initial OCS Certification Audit<\/h5>\n<p>The following documents are supplied prior to the initial certification:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>Briefing information about the OCS Standard;<\/li>\n<li>Standard and Implementation Manual;<\/li>\n<li>Document checklist;<\/li>\n<li>Inspection report which includes inspection checklists, list of suppliers and subcontractors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Initial Certification Audit<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>Opening meeting<\/li>\n<li>On-site Audit<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of Audit Report (including Findings)<\/li>\n<li>Closing meeting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following the completion of the inspection, a report detailing the findings is provided. Subject to the closure of any non-conformances or findings (if any), a Scope Certificate is issued.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h3>Labelling Release<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>Whenever the client wishes to have its artwork approved, the proposed artwork and Labelling Release form shall be submitted to GCL International for approval.<\/p>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h3>Transaction Certificate<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>The certified client may request a Transaction Certificate by emailing us;<\/li>\n<li>Send a Transaction Certificate Request form and associated documents to us;<\/li>\n<li>If approved by us, the Transaction Certificate is issued to the client.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"section-title title-margin\">\n<h3>Re-Assessment or Annual Audit<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"gcl-list\">\n<li>GCL International will communicate with the client to plan for the re-assessment and to determine if there has been any changes, such as: production units, subcontractors, recipes or new suppliers. An audit report must be completed by the client and returned to us;<\/li>\n<li>GCL International will conduct the re-assessment;<\/li>\n<li>Following the completion of the audit, a report detailing the findings is provided.
